The Swanky Zoo Project

After visiting the Detroit Zoo on August 23, 2012, I decided that I would make it my mission to visit every zoo in the country.

As of 8/27/2012, there are 330 zoos in the United States (that I am aware of. If you notice one that I’ve missed, let me know). The total cost of admission to these zoos is just over $4,761 with an average price of $14.60. One of these zoos is special, though, in that the cost of admission is $700. Riddle’s Elephant and Wildlife Sanctuary can only be accessed via Elephant Experience Weekend, which I can only hope they continue until I am able to visit, because that would be an amazing weekend.
